Alex Hubert, PhD

I graduated from the University of Kent with an MPhys in 2014. After this I joined the Warwick university microscopy group to take on the challenge of a PhD. I successfully completed it in September 2019!
I love giving presentations, both scientific and non-scientific. I was a frequent speaker at the Warwick physics postgraduate seminar series and a finalist of the 2019 Warwick 3MT competition. For the previous 4 years I have been recovering from a serious illness. At present, I'm gradually reintegrating into the workforce by taking on freelance writing projects.

I worked on using D-LACBED data to refine the structural parameters of inorganic crystals. Most notably atomic positions and Debye-Waller factors. To do this I have used and contributed to the Bloch-wave simulation software felix.
